Alien: Isolation

There are origami unicorns placed throughout the levels. These unicorns are a reference to the film "Blade Runner", directed by the original Alien movie director, Ridley Scott.
FTL: Faster Than Light

A number of the game's achievements reference various popular media:
• The "Rule Ten: Greed is Eternal" achievement is a reference to the Ferengi Rules of Acquisition from the Star Trek series.
• The "No Redshirts Here" achievement, which is earned by making sure no crew members died before reaching Sector 8, is an infamous reference to Star Trek: The Original Series, in which the security officers, who wore red shirts, would often be killed off moments after being introduced.
• The "I don't need no stinkin' upgrades!" achievement is a reference to the popularized-movie version of The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, in which one of the characters makes the statement "Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. I don't have to show you any stinkin' badges!"
• The "Some people just like to watch ships burn" achievement references the Batman film, The Dark Knight, namely Alfred Pennyworth quoting "Some people just want to watch the world burn."
• The "On a Wing and a Prayer" achievement is a reference to the song of the same name, which was popularized during World War II.
• The "Trustworthy Auto-Pilot" achievement icon parodies HAL 9000 from Arthur C. Clarke's science fiction Space Odyssey saga.

Attachment The community created cosmetic item "Crazy Legs" for the Scout is named after an old bug that would cause the Scout's legs to bend in an unusual fashion. It is also an alternate name for the Hunter from the Left 4 Dead series, of which inspired the item's appearance.

In the projection room of the theater, a bar of pink soap labelled "Jack" can be found. This is a reference to the film "Fight Club", in which the narrator would often refer to himself as Jack and makes a profitable business in selling soap.
Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story

Attachment Going to Bowser's Castle Spoiler:as Mario and Luigi and going down a blue pipe in the concession stand area will lead you to an underground room. Entering the correct code in the following room will Spoiler:open a vault, and entering the vault one finds a large icy room. Hitting the button with a hammer will cause some of the ice to melt, revealing three Spoiler: Shroob enemies from the previous installment in the series, Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time.

After the battle, Starlow finds out that these creatures once invaded the Mushroom Kingdom, and that Mario and Luigi Spoiler: defeated them as babies. Starlow also finds out that Spoiler: Luigi defeated the Shroobs by crying in the past, another nod to Partners in Time . This almost assures that the Mario and Luigi in Bowser's Inside Story are Spoiler: the babies in the previous game.

During the mission, "Clean Getaway", while Niko and Vlad are walking to Vlad's car, Vlad is nearly hit by a Taxi and yells "I'm walking here" at the driver. This is a reference to a scene in the film "Midnight Cowboy", in which Dustin Hoffman is almost hit by a taxi and yells the same phrase. It may also be a reference to the film "Back to the Future Part II", in which Martin McFly Junior is almost hit by a car while crossing the street and yells the same phrase repeatedly.
Kid Icarus: Uprising

On the Ground stage of The Lightning Chariot, there is a room in which Pit must use jump pads to get over a number of rolling spheres. Pit says that it looks familiar, while Hades says, "I guess the Chariot Master has played Donkey Kong."

The Red Star commander on Donut Island is named "Samasuun", and has a head shot of Samus Aran's helmet. This is very likely a reference to Samus Aran of the Metroid series.

The Heist "GO Bank" pays homage to ##Valve##'s title, Counter Strike: Global Offensive. These references include the map layout being similar to the "de_bank" map, Bain's dialogue including words like "Valve", "Source", and "Counter Strike", and the achievement for completing the map, "Eco Round", is a term used in Global Offensive to refer to conserving money to be used in later rounds by only using a pistol.

Marcus, the Super-Mutant sheriff of Broken Hills, will sometimes shout "I am NOT a merry Mutant!" when he's hit in combat. Marcus is voiced by Michael Dorn, who is best known for playing Worf from Star Trek: The Next Generation, and the phrase comes from the same show, namely the episode Qpid in which "Q" forces the main crew into a recreation of Robin Hood, in which he protests by yelling "I am NOT a merry man!"

Attachment When going through the control room, a set of boxes can examined. Luna will then tell the player that they contain machinery. Examining them several times will cause Phi to wonder if they could "use one of those boxes to sneak past guards." This is a reference to the famous cardboard box item in the Metal Gear Solid games.
