Before the Psycho Mantis fight starts, he will demonstrate his psychic abilities by reading Snake's mind, which actually involves reading the saved game files on the inserted memory card.
The game save-files that trigger a response from Psycho Mantis are Super Mario Sunshine, Super Smash Bros. Melee, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, and Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, the last being Silicon Knights previous game made exclusively for the Gamecube.

Attachment At the coordinates N 47.925; E 40.783 there are ruins with a set of statues circling a dead goat. If left unattended for a while, the statues seem to switch places. This is a clear reference to the Dr. Who villains, the Weeping Angels, which is a species of statue-like predatory creatures that only move when not seen.

When installing the game on a modern PC using icons larger than 32x32 pixels, the game will use an image of Tim Cain's head as its icon in place of the original Vault Boy.
Tim Cain is the original creator, and was the lead programmer for Fallout.

Attachment The game is based off the 1993 Japanese arcade game simply titled "No Oishii Puzzle Ha Irimasen Ka", a puzzle game developed by the Hebereke creators themselves, Sunsoft and Atlus. While both games are very much the same, the only difference between the two are the map arrangements, how the music sounds, and some of the characters seen.

The level can be accessed by unlocking the level select screen and using the Sound Test to input a code, before selecting Hidden Palace Zone. If done correctly the player will be taken to Proto Palace Zone instead.
