Attachment In the Ghost Square section of the Gold Saucer there is a pumpkin with green eyes in the corner of the room to the left of reception at the inn. Interacting with this pumpkin will cause it to laugh. This laugh is in fact a slightly slower version of the iconic laugh of Kefka Palazzo, the villain from Final Fantasy VI.

Generation III introduced a new attack specific to the Pikachu evolution line called Volt Tackle. In the Japanese version of the game, Volt Tackle is known as Volteccer.

Volteccer is the name of an attack used by Pulseman, the protagonist of a self-titled Sega Mega Drive game developed by Game Freak in 1994.

There is a Debug Mode code accessed from the Sound Test in the options menu that is inputted by playing songs in the order 01, 09, 09, 02, 01, 01, 02, 04. This is a reference to the North American release date of the game, which was on 1992/11/24, or November 24th, 1992.

The code to access the Level Select is 19, 65, 09, 17. These numbers reference Sonic developer Yuji Naka's birthday, September 17th, 1965.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Attachment During beta testing for Ocarina of Time, developers added an Arwing from the Star Fox series to the game to test enemy AI and Z-Targeting. While it was never actually used in the game, the code was never removed and can still be accessed via devices like GameShark and Action Replay.

Attachment The "Solar Gun" can be obtained by getting all Boss Dolls after defeating the FROGS and BB Beast forms without using lethal weapons. The gun is a direct reference to the Hideo Kojima-produced game Lunar Knights, the fourth game in his Boktai series.

The gun itself is based on Aaron's "Knight" model, and requires the user to charge shots using sunlight, as you would in all Boktai games.

The character "Pierce" the eagle has the catchphrase "Hawkeye", leaving many to believe he is a reference to the sitcom "M*A*S*H". M*A*S*H's main character is Benjamin Franklin "Hawkeye" Pierce.

Attachment "Looker", a character who hides his real name, says that he is working to stop Team Galactic from ripping reality into pieces and creating a new world to replace our own. He wears a brown coat and a suit, and has very pointy hair. He seems very similar to "The Doctor" from "Doctor Who", who also goes around stopping galactic cataclysmic events, and never reveals his actual name. In addition, "Looker" physically resembles the tenth Doctor portrayed by David Tennant.

Fans thought that one of the inkblots looked like two bears high-fiving, but this was not an option in the game. A fan decided to make a mod for the game which made 'Two Bears High-Fiving' an option. Obsidian referenced the fan reaction and the mod by putting a character called 'Two-Bears-High-Fiving' in the game's Honest Hearts DLC.

Attachment There is a reference to the Mass Effect series in the ambitions expansion. When using the time machine to travel to the future, your Sim appears in a crowd of people cheering about how a shepherd saved the galaxy from a 'huge ancient machine God threat.' Additionally, the futuristic outfits that can be obtained from the future highly resemble the Spectre armor found in Mass Effect.

In Vilemyr Inn, Ivarstead, you'll find a woman by the name of Temba Wide-Arm. Her name is a subtle reference to the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode 'Darkmok', in which Picard and his crew encounter a race of aliens called the 'Tamaraians'. At one point, Picard is stuck on a planet's surface. He attempts to make a fire, but fails. A Tamarian named Dathon takes a branch from his own fire and throws it to Picard, saying "Temba, his arms wide", to make it clear the fire was a gift.
Luigi's Mansion

If Luigi confronts King Boo before capturing all of the portrait ghosts, he will say "I will not give up my favorite decoration, I like Mario just where he is." This is a reference to Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. When Han Solo is trapped in carbonite, Jabba the Hutt says: "I will not give up my favorite decoration. I like captain Solo where he is." Both Mario and Solo being sealed away seems to reinforce this connection.

In the German version, the Snow World is called "Großfrostheim" which translates into "Great Frost Home". This, however, is a reference to the German city "Großostheim", which is where the Nintendo of Europe headquarters are located, and where the game was localized.

Attachment In the first dungeon, you come across a red-capped mushroom enemy that walks around spraying spores. The enemy is named "Puffstool", and is actually a reference to a boss found in Pikmin also named "Puffstool" who sprays spores to infect Pikmin and turn them against you.
