The in-game announcements are voiced by motorsports announcer Larry "Supermouth" Huffman.

Blizzard decided at the last minute to include licensed classic rock songs in the soundtrack, a rarity when the game was released. Of course at the time, these had to be remade in a chiptune style.

Rock n' Roll Racing was originally planned as a sequel to RPM Racing, titled "RPMII".

Olaf, from The Lost Vikings, makes an appearance as a secret character in Rock 'n Roll Racing. Baleog also appears on several billboards advertising "Viking Cola" on Bogmire.
