One of the most criticized social groups to spawn from the game is its unauthorized online dating community, where players attempt to court real-life romantic relationships and imitate sexual scenarios on what is intended to be a family-friendly online game. Due to oversights and loopholes in the game's age verification system, many predatory meetings and interactions between adults and underaged children or teenagers have occurred through Roblox both in and outside this community (including an incident involving a popular sub-game developer who was wanted by the FBI in the United States), with real-life incidents often receiving coverage on major news outlets to highlight the game's ineffective enforcement of its child safety policies. While dating as a whole is currently forbidden in the game's Community Standards, Roblox CEO David Baszucki expressed public interest in having officially-supported dating games and chatrooms for verified adult users later down the line (something he also admitted to being reprimanded by the game's safety team for) as part of a general initiative to retain its original aging playerbase. Chief product officer Manuel Bronstein described it as a need to "age up, [and] grow internationally".
