The sword kit "Bones of Gashadokuro" refers to a monster in Japanese folklore called the Gashadokuro; it is most well-known from its appearance in the 19th century woodblock triptych "Takiyasha the Witch and the Skeleton Spectre". They are large skeletons, each with the skull of a person who has died fighting on the battlefield or from famine, and are said to stalk people in the night and consume them. The sword kit description refers to slain retainers in Oda Nobunaga's army.

In the Hakodake Mountains, on the trail leading up to the Enduring Hold Shrine, a mural of a man riding a wooden wheel can be found on a wall. This art is a reference to Rocket, the title character from Sucker Punch Productions' first game Rocket: Robot on Wheels.
