I think this is a pretty logical stance and I'm perfectly happy for you to continue operating this way unless IGDB changes how they handle things at which point we can revisit. That seems fairly unlikely though so we're probably good to assume this will be fine moving forward.

Petie suggested enforcing a "no fangames" policy on VGFacts a few months after the site relaunch to match the rules on the other VG Resource sites, but nothing has really been set in stone aside from dealing with games in general that are too obscure or niche for us to verify trivia for. In the pressure of dealing with the larger flood of submissions around that time, I accepted trivia about fangames, because some submissions did use verifiable sources and I wasn't sure how the new regular contributors after the relaunch would react as it felt like some of them were consistently trying to push the envelope. I think aside from bootlegs, IGDB does not assign a franchise or series to fangames and mods, so something like a Mario ROM hack will not appear on the franchise/collection page for the official Mario games on VGFacts. As long as IGDB keeps doing that, and as long as fangame submissions adhere to the site rules and vetting under our submission guidelines, then I personally don't mind them. However, this matter is still the site admins' call, so if they decide fangames should be prohibited, then they will be.

Kinda surprised to see trivia about FNF mods is allowed. Not that I'm complaining, as I actually like them, though I have to wonder if there are any sort of rules related to that on here? Or can we just go about it like other games?
