Following the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center & Pentagon, the game's inside cover removed the image of a pre-9/11 New York skyline (which includes the former World Trade Center) in flames, which fell in bad taste in the wake of the attacks.

Harvard Bonin, the associate producer of the game, originally wanted his own Dog (Ike) for the sounds of the Attack Dogs in the game. But because Ike didn't sound fierce enough, Ike was dropped for another Dog.
