Attachment The statue titled "Comstock fights the Serpent of Nations" outside the Audemus Patria Nostra Defendere, bears a striking resemblance to a political cartoon of the USA's 7th president, Andrew Jackson titled "General Jackson Slaying the many Headed Monster". This could be due to how controversial these two men are, and wanting to rebel over something quite large.

One of the running jokes in the game is that "Grabbed by the Ghoulies" did not do well commercially. The best way to see this is in Banjoland. In the trashcan from the Cloud Cuckooland part of the park, there are many unsold copies of "Grabbed by the Ghoulies."

When you go to Bazaar's General Store and buy a shell, you have the option to ask him about the castle in the distance. He'll tell you about it for 2 coins, but if you decline he'll tell you something much more interesting:

Are you sure? Some cheeky lad called Link was in just last week and he asked about the castle too. He didn't have enough coins, but he seemed such a nice fellow that I agreed to accept 500 rupees instead. After that he left... muttering about my shells being the wrong shape or something. Oh well!

This is a reference to The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening in which sea shells were collectible items.

Attachment If a Scout is blown up, there is a 1 in 100 chance that a dove will fly out of his body. This is a reference to the Meet the Medic trailer, in which the medic accidentally seals his pet bird, Archimedes, inside the scout's chest.

The Mann vs. Machine update, released in August of 2012, had been teased by Valve for almost 3 years:
• In October of 2009, during the Haunted Hallowe'en Special, the will of Zepheniah Mann, the father of Redmond and Blutarch Mann, the owners of Blu and Red, respectively, showed that he had an unknown third son, who was revealed during the Mann vs Machine update as Gray Mann, the one sending robots to destroy Mann Co.
• During the 119th update several months later, a teaser video was released for the Engineer Update. In said video, multiple robot heads of the Heavy and Demoman classes could be seen in the background. These would later be seen as the heads for their respective robots sent by Gray Mann.
• Much later, during the Christmas 2011 update, a hidden back room, accessible only via cheats, was found in the newly added map "Foundry". In the room, it shows a cowering Heavy and Scout looking at developed pictures showing several of Gray Mann's robots. Besides these pictures, there are also 3 numbers in the map, "13 22 13", which in alpha numeric code translates to "MVM", the initals of the future update.
• During the Pyromania update 6 months later, the also newly added map "Doomsday" included another room only accessible with cheats. In this room, a disappointed Spy can be seen with the same 4 pictures and a map showing a town, a factory, and a farm. These 3 places would be the 3 MVM maps, Coaltown, Mannworks, and Decoy, respectively.
• 2 months later, the actual Mann vs. Machine update was released

In Captain Falcon's "break the target" room, a picture of dolphins can be found on the left-most wall. This may be a reference to the original codename of the Gamecube, which was "The Dolphin".
The Sims 3

Attachment If a Sim with the Investigator profession is on a stake-out, there is a chance that this Sim will reference the case of Bella Goth. Bella Goth first appeared as a playable character in the console version of The Sims. Later, in the Sims 2, she appears to be missing from her family's neighborhood, Pleasentview, and found with no memories in another neighborhood, Strangetown. This reference seems to be a plot-hole, however, as Bella appears as a child in The Sims 3; which is supposed to take place 50 years before the events of The Sims.

The planet of Katina is a clear reference to the movie "Independence Day". Similar to the movie, you have to dog fight aliens that are invading the world and if you do not finish off the mother ship in time, it will destroy the base with a blue laser. The new partner you get in this fight, Bill Grey, is a reference to the General William Grey from the movie.

Attachment A reference to "Doom" can be found near the church in the level "Death Row". If you press the panel in front of the cross, the screen will become red tinted and a wall behind the left pane of stained glass will drop down. Following the path will reveal a bloody corpse of the protagonist from Doom. Duke will also comment, "That's one doomed space marine."

Attachment The Ganton Bridge in San Fierro has a few Easter Eggs scattered around it. At the right side of the entrance, a museum can be found that focuses on the bridge. It has a sign listing a few facts about the bridge. These facts include that the bridge has 11 textures and takes up 1.27 MB of disc space. Also at the museum is a sign that demonstrates "an actual piece of cable". Both of these signs, as well as the museum, are based on their real-life counterparts near the Golden Gate Bridge in San Fransisco.
