Attachment In the Heroic Fantasy book 'The Name of The Wind' by Patrick Rothfuss, the main character Kvothe stumbles at one point (Page 22 in the attached PDF) and says "I took an arrow in the knee on my way through the Eld three summers ago" The book was published in 2007 and might be where Bethesda got the line from. If this is the case, then 'arrow in the knee' may be an Easter egg or reference to the novel.

Attachment There is an enemy called Rakkman located in a cave in the fridge, a homage to the "Batman" series. He may drop a weapon called the Gunerang, a reference to Batman's Batarang. In the second play through, his name is changed to Rakkman Forever, a reference to the film Batman Forever.

Attachment Bully's Bullworth Academy is shown in an episode of 'I'm Rich', a reality television show in Grand Theft Auto IV. This indicates that the setting for Bully possibly exists in the Grand Theft Auto universe.

Once you get a Game Over, you get a cut scene of your vehicle exploding, and your license plate spins and falls where the car once was. This is a reference to a scene in "Back to the Future," where Doc is testing out the DeLorean. The license plate even references the scene from the movie by saying "OUTTALIFE" instead of "OUTATIME."

The mission requires the player to solve a murder and upon completion, Marshall Friedman will say a melodramatic one-liner like the main protagonist of the show 'Horatio Caine' does.

If you talk to him for a second time before unclogging him, Kazooie will bring up the option of calling a plumber and mentions 'Mario' by name. In the XBLA version, the reference is changed to "that well known Italian guy" as Microsoft could not use Mario's name.

Attachment Doom II has two secret levels designed as a tribute to other id titles. The first secret level titled "Wolfenstein" is largely based on the first map in Wolfenstein 3D. A secret exit in the level leads to the second secret map, titled "Grosse", referencing Hans Grosse, the first boss in Wolfenstein 3D. To beat "Grosse", the player has to shoot four hanging Commander Keens and flip a switch. Commander Keen is the protagonist in multiple platformer games also developed by id.
