If you have no weapon equipped and if you have one use of a healing item left, using that last healing item will cause an uncommon glitch to occur where the weapon listed first in your status menu will be automatically equipped. This glitch also appears in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn.

In Chapter 13, "Blood Contract", the objective is to last against an army for twelve turns with the help of ally NPCs. One of the NPCs is an archer manning a ballista in the top left corner of the map. Nicknamed "3-13 Archer", this NPC has gained a reputation in the Fire Emblem community for attacking and surviving numerous enemy encounters, going as far as leaving his turret to block advancing enemy units.

Early US copies had a few glitches that were fixed in later copies:
• When using the data transfer function, the game freezes if there are any Easy mode saves from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance.
• In the glossary, viewing Muarim's description lists Mist's description instead.

The Ancient Tongue spoken by the game's Laguz characters is actually just an elaborate English font which can easily be translated. Two of the game's characters, the heron Leanne and the wolf Volug, speak almost exclusively in the Ancient Tongue. They appear to be quiet, stoic, and wise characters. However, translating her dialogue reveals Leanne is quite excitable and sassy. Volug is similarly sarcastic; he asks at one point, "You ever wonder what would happen if I just ate everyone we fought? Would the rest keep fighting?"
