A male version of the game's protagonist was designed, but went unused. This is because the game's Kickstarter stretch goal to include a male protagonist was not met. The unused character was named Haru, and would have mirrored the game's protagonist, Hana.

Greg from The Completionist was originally set to appear in the game, however after it was announced that he'd left the team, it was decided by the game's developers that he would no longer be part of the game out of respect for the channel.
