Duke Nukem was temporarily renamed to Duke Nukum due to a concern that he shared the same name as a villain in the 90s cartoon "Captain Planet and the Planeteers". He was renamed back to Duke Nukem after it was confirmed that the Captain Planet show held no copyright to the name.
