WWE Smackdown! Here Comes the Pain
1
Attachment The Ultimate Warrior was originally going to be in the game. It seems that he was removed later in development, as he has a screen selection picture. The reasoning for his removal is due to James Hellwig (Ultimate Warrior) threatening the WWE with a lawsuit.
Banjo-Kazooie

Attachment A poster featuring an early design of Berri from Conker's Twelve Tales can be found in Rusty Bucket Bay.
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories
1
Attachment The game originally included a land mine weapon, but it was ultimately cut. The HUD icon for it can still be found in the game's code.
WWE SmackDown! vs. Raw 2006
1
Attachment There are six unused announcer calls for Maven, Kenzo Suzuki, and Mr. America (Hulk Hogan). It's likely they were all meant to be playable characters during development, but it's unknown as to why they were removed. It's unlikely that this was due to their contracts expiring during development, as the game includes several characters on the roster whose contracts expired during development, such as Spike Dudley, Mark Jindrak, and Joy Giovanni.
WWE Smackdown! Here Comes the Pain
1
Jeff Hardy was originally a playable character in-game, but was later removed. His removal was late in development, as he was featured in one of the game's trailers. His removal from the game was most likely due to his contract termination from WWE during development.

1
Prior to release, the game was rejected multiple times by Nintendo until Shigeru Miyamoto took interest. When Game Freak wanted to start development, they required funding, and thus the team worked on smaller Nintendo projects to obtain funding.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

The cutscene that Spoiler:briefly takes the player into space as an astronaut, before being killed by the ICBM in the mission Second Sun, was going to be an interactive level, similar to that of "The Coup" in the original Modern Warfare. This was later scrapped.
Franchise: Resident Evil
1
Richard Waugh, the second voice actor for Albert Wesker, was inspired by the Walt Disney villain Shere Khan from "The Jungle Book".

My kids were toddlers at the time and we had been watching a lot of Disney films. As soon as I read Wesker I thought, wouldn't it be cool to have this military-type have a really cultured, chocolaty voice like George Sanders in The Jungle Book. Wesker is basically my version of Shere Khan.
Viva Piñata
1
A dung beetle Piñata animal was planned to be included, but was ultimately left out. It would leave droppings on the ground which could be used on plants for super growth.
Viva Piñata
1
Attachment Viva Piñata originally began as a game called "My Garden", and later "Amazing Garden", for Microsoft's Pocket PC PDA mobile phone. Players could attract animals to their garden and trade them with other players. Development was later moved to the Xbox with the prototype running within Grabbed by the Ghoulies and later onto the Xbox 360. The decision to use Piñata animals was made when the game's concept artist, Ryan Stevenson, looked at the original animal designs which reminded him of Piñata which he'd seen in a Mexican restaurant in New York.
Diddy Kong Racing DS
1
Attachment Dixie Kong and Tiny Kong replaced Conker and Banjo in the DS remake. This is thought to be due to a legal issue, as both IPs belong to Microsoft after Rare were bought by Microsoft in 2002.
The Walking Dead
1
Doug once had his own subquest in early development, in which Lee had to knock the pole onto his brother while Doug attracted the walkers away with Kenny's truck. Lee had to cut the electricity before cutting the pole with a fire axe.
Kirby's Epic Yarn
1
The game was originally going to be a different IP called "Fluff's Epic Yarn". According to Etsunobu Ebisu, the original idea came from Madoka Yamauchi. The idea was presented to Nintendo after the developers at Good-Feel were done finishing the design document for the game. Nintendo asked the developers if they'd make it into a Kirby game, as Prince Fluff's design was similar to Kirby's.
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
1
Attachment Early in the game, the scene where The Boss and Naked Snake are seen reaching out to each other from the Hind chopper and on the ground respectively was originally going to be different. According to Hideo Kojima in the MGS3 commentary, this scene was originally going to have The Boss release her bandana to the wind for Snake to catch, which he'd then use as a sling. However, the scene was changed because one of the motion capture actors requested that they change when Snake acquired the bandana to when The Boss throws him down into the river prior to this scene.
BioShock
1
Attachment There seems to be a blank sign and four little rectangular prongs floating right under the Bathysphere. It could be used for distance between the ground at the end, or a placeholder for when the Bathysphere was to be completed. It follows you from the start, all the way to the end of the little trip. It has no physics or textures.
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories
1
Attachment Bryan Forbes originally had a mustache.
WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011
