Attachment Both early artwork of Bellossom and its Gold and Silver artwork show that it was originally a similar color to its other evolutionary relatives. A possible explanation for the change to its current color scheme would be the intention to avoid another racial controversy, as the original Bellossom design appears similar to traditional polynesian dress. However, this is unlikely to be the case.

The unused Bird type from the Generation I games remains in the Gold & Silver's code. This is presumed to be a carryover from the Generation I games' engine, as Pokémon Gold & Silver were developed on an upgraded version of it.

Samus was originally planned to have unique sprites and animations for whether she was facing left or right. These sprites are still stored within the game's ROM. This animation idea would eventually be seen in Super Metroid.

Attachment There's an extra special stage that can be accessed through the sound test menu by setting all the 3 selections to 07. According to a former Sega Europe QA Tester, an extra Time Stone was to be collectible here. When collected in addition to the previous Time Stones, "S" TV monitors would appear where the ring TVs were previously located. When broken, Sonic would morph into a lesser version of Super Sonic, which would simply grant invincibility and greater speed. Graphics would not change.
Franchise: Donkey Kong

Attachment Swanky and Candy are the only two Kongs yet to be playable, though Candy was going to be a playable character in the cancelled Diddy Kong Pilot a few weeks after Redneck Kong was scrapped from the game. They both are members of the "Bonus Bonanza" in the Game Boy Advance remake of Donkey Kong Country 2.

Attachment The game was originally a Japan-only Gold Cart game that was won in a "Golf U.S." Tournament, where players would send in their high scores to Nintendo in order to enter the contest. The main difference between this and later copies of the game was that the final boss was Super Macho Man, and not Mike Tyson/Mr. Dream.

Attachment Roy did not star in a game before Melee. Although Fire Emblem: Fūin no Tsurugi (Fire Emblem: Binding Blade) is where Roy held a starring role, the game came out March 29th 2002, while Melee was released November 21st, 2001 in Japan. Roy was put into Melee to promote Fūin no Tsurugi's release in Japan, and was originally intended to be an exclusive character to the Japanese region.
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots

Attachment Johnny's grandfather, the Johnny from Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, was supposed to make a cameo appearance Spoiler:during Johnny and Meryl's wedding at the end of the game. Grandpa Johnny's cameo was cut from the game, but official artwork of him appears in the illustration book Metal Gear Solid 4: Master Art Works.

In a prerelease trailer for the game, Alice can be seen swimming in the Deluded Depths. This was cut from the final version and Alice simply runs across the ground as she does in the other areas of Wonderland.

Attachment In a released concept art in Kirby's Dream Collection, an unknown knight was shown with red butterfly-like wings. Since this artwork was in Meta Knight’s section, many presumed it to be Meta Knight's beta design. However, in a Nintendo Dream magazine interview with Shinya Kumazaki, he confirmed that the design was originally for an entirely different knight that would have appeared in the cancelled Kirby GameCube game. This design would later be used for Morpho Knight in Kirby Star Allies, ​​​​except with a different sword.
