The Sandpit 2 track seen in the game is actually an updated version of Track 2 from the 2002 FlatOut prototype demo. Despite originating from a prototype of FlatOut, the track has not been seen in any of the series' games.

In celebration of their Kickstarter campaign, ##Bugbear Entertainment## released a prototype of their previous game series, FlatOut, that bears a striking resemblance to Wreckfest. The prototype dates two years prior the release of the first FlatOut in 2004.
