The main protagonist, Sean Devlin, was based on William Grover-Williams, a real-world Grand Prix champion who drove for the French Bugatti racing team, and later became a saboteur in Paris during World War II.

To see in-game the cabaret women topless, players had to download "The Midnight Show" DLC which came free with new copies of the game or for $3 with used copies. However on April 14, 2012, EA had shutdown the game's servers making legitimately unlocking nudity in the game impossible.
