Also in the area is the West Ende Girls Snack Shop, ran by Dusty Shadowcloud and Jackie Whisperflame. The names and occupations of these characters reference the English synthpop duo Pet Shop Boys, consisting of Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe. The group's 1984 debut single, "West End Girls", serves as the snack shop's namesake. Dusty Shadowcloud's first name and Lowe Springfield's last name reference English soul singer Dusty Springfield, who appeared as a guest vocalist on Pet Shop Boys' 1987 single "What Have I Done to Deserve This?"
