According to an Ask the Developer interview, many of the newer team members involved with Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream had previously played Tomodachi Collection and Tomodachi Life, and were incredibly passionate about the series. One such example given was in regards to the game's Mii News segments, which were almost cut from the game due to time constraints. According to Ryutaro Takahashi, one of the younger developers insisted that without Mii News, "it just wouldn't feel like Tomodachi Life! It's what really gives the game its character", before going around discussing the matter with various people to figure out how to make it work, eventually coming up with a realistic plan.
