According to former game director Isaac Christopherson in a Twitter Q&A following the release of Chapter 5, the Outimals, Chum Chompkins, and Giblet were brand new characters created for the chapter and were not part of his initial outline. In comparison, Lily Lovebraids had early concept art made prior to his departure, wherein she was depicted with two large braids that she walked with in a similar manner to the character Doctor Octopus from Spider-Man. Despite this, Lily wasn't included in the outline either, as Christopherson wasn't sure if she could be fit into the story of chapter 5.
