Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road was originally announced in 2016 as "Inazuma Eleven Ares" and slated to release in 2018 to tie into the anime series of the same name. However, it soon faced numerous delays and name changes; the 2020 delay saw the game's name be changed to "Inazuma Eleven: Great Road of Heroes", and was done for business purposes to focus more development resources on Y School Heroes: Bustlin' School Life. The game would receive its final title in 2022, and would gain console ports for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S, but the iOS and Android versions would be cancelled as well. After one final delay, the game would finally release on November 13, 2025.
