In November 2024, the game was removed from Steam in the United Kingdom after a request from the UK's Counter-Terrorism Internet Referral Unit (CTIRU). While the game had been openly available since 2022, this takedown was prompted by an update to the game earlier that month called "Operation al-Aqsa Flood", which included additional recreations of the October 7, 2023 Hamas-led Palestinian attack on Israel. The trailer for the update also included a scene in which a group of Palestinian militants executes an Israeli soldier. Developer Nidal Nijm would later clarify that this specific act could not be done in-game, and that in other instances the player would be penalized for doing so. Although the game was also blocked in Germany and Australia, Nijm claimed this was only because he couldn't afford to apply for an age rating, whereas the UK block was "clearly due to political reasons" and that their government was accusing the game of "being 'terrorist' propaganda", adding:


Nijm has admitted that certain aspects of the trailer were made "just to 'trigger' Zionists and to piss them off, and as well to bring into the table what means freedom of speech in reality", comparing it to the infamous "No Russian" mission from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 where the player takes part in a terrorist attack at a Russian airport and shoots innocent civilians.
