Although the Hungry Shark only appears in one version of the game, it's still possible to buy the gum from Gill Barker that's used to get past it in the other. If Freddi and Luther do purchase it, then it'll remain in their inventory for the rest of the game, since it cannot be used for anything else.

There's an unused version of the theme that plays when Nelson Torso the Blacksmith puts the belt buckle together. The difference is that this version doesn't have the melody in it.
