The village of Doolin in the Japanese release is called 'Lemrick', which is similar to the real-life city and county in Ireland, Limerick.
The sea-side town of Doolin is actually a real town in Ireland. It is a popular tourist destination for its traditional Irish music.
After collecting every folk, Keats will unlock a new costume that will replace his normal costume. This costume features a long red trench coat and wide-brim fedora, and is likely a reference to Alucard from the Hellsing anime series.
The Japanese release, Folks Soul, has an extra feature called Epigraph Fragments. These pieces of artifacts are scattered throughout Doolin. The player can collect and transfer them to the PSP game "Coded Soul", which was not released outside of Japan.
Folklore was announced under the title of Unknown Realms. The name "Unknown Realms" appears in-game as the name of the magazine that Keats writes for.
