The good ending can only be achieved if you turn into Hyde on the final stage and beat the only boss in the game. After beating the boss, you take control of Jekyll again and the stage will be completely free of enemies and obstacles.

Two stages were removed from the US release that were present in the Japanese Famicom version. These levels were replaced by repeated versions on the Town and Cemetery stages.
