Attachment Dataminers on the Suikosource forums discovered an unused dungeon in the game that cannot be accessed other than through hacking. The dungeon is incomplete with some missing features, but is largely playable. While there is no direct confirmation from developers on how it was intended to tie in with the game's narrative, dataminers have concluded the following:

At some point after defeating the Beast Rune, the player is supposed to return to the village of Sajah. There is an inconspicuous-looking rock that does nothing, but which can be removed via hacking to reveal an entrance. While this entrance does not work, it is theorized that once entering this passage, the player would reach the lowest floor of the test dungeon. From there they would travel upward and face six or more bosses (speculated to be Bone Dragon, Stone Golem, Abomination, Double Head, Pest Rat and Harpy - though not necessarily in that order) gatekeeping certain stairs. Monsters would get progressively harder at each stage. There are around six floors and 8 orbs which the player would need to collect to pass through the final door.

In the final room, there is a purple rune that offers 3 choices; When the dialogue is translated into English, it reads:

"One in search of a new path - I shall test your will.

I am the Rune of Circulating Paths. Do you wish for a new path?
- Yes
- No
- New path?

While your strength remains, the new path shall guide you to a new beginning.
Though be warned that there is no return path. Do you still wish for a new path?
- Yes!
- Wait a minute
- What new path?

You will lose your current path, lose all allies and friends that joined you,
and you will even lose the outcome. Do you still choose to follow the new path?
- Yes
- Rather not
- What new path?

Close your eyes. I shall open the new path for you to see...

Accepted. Time does not flow for me, I shall wait.

The path you have followed can once again be followed in another world.
While your strength remains, the path will be a new beginning.

Looking through all of this dialogue, the first option warps you back to Sajah, leaving you on your way. The second option allows you to step back before deciding again, while the third option warps you to an unknown location.

It is theorized you're supposed to end up in Sindar Ruin as there was a brief moment where Riou was left alone. In the end, you get to replay at that point in time, with previously kept items/stats, and possibly have the combined Rune of Beginning (Sword and Shield Rune) as it has been alluded many times in-game that it was considered as one.

It's speculated the reason why this dungeon was scrapped was because it was too ambitious to be implemented.

To explore on your own (for the North American version) use the following GameShark code to teleport Viki to an Unknown Dungeon (Pick Kazah Village [note: Sajah Village was originally named Kazah Village]):

According to Raww Le Klueze, global admin of the Suikosource forums, there is a hidden marriage proposal spoken by The Castle Keeper zombie in Neclord's castle that can be found in the game's files in ve3.bin and ve6.bin. There is no known way to access it in-game. Translated to English, it reads:

"Kazuko
I really love Kazuko
Even after 10 years
Even after 20 years
Even after 50 years
I will always, always love her.
.........
Teeheehee!
Thank you for always being there.
And
for always supporting me!
PS
Let's get married!
Mwah!"

It's unknown who Kazuko is or who wrote this proposal. This text is only believed to be present in the Japanese version of the game, with the North American version replacing it with a repeat of some past dialogue with the zombie before ending with the "Mwah!" replaced with a single "Yuk.".

The mutant bird illustration on the box art for Sqij! and Obitus, drawn by speculative fiction artist Tim White, seems to have originated from the 1979 edition of the 1975 book Under a Calculating Star. It is unknown if either use was licensed.

Attachment A secret message can be found on the title screen of the NES version of the game with the use of two controllers. At the title screen, select "CONSTRUCTION" on the menu. Press Start on Controller 1 to enter the mode, then press it again to return back to the title screen. Repeat this seven times. After the seventh enter-and-exit, hold Down on Controller 1 and press A eight times on Controller 2. Then, hold Right on Controller 1 and press B twelve times on Controller 2. Finally, press Start on Controller 1 to activate the message featuring an animation of a green droplet falling.

The most likely person as to the identity of "Open-Reach" is Tomcat System's founder and programmer Ryoichi Ookubo because of the similarities between "Reach" and "Ryoichi". It should be also noted that his name is hidden twice in the game's ROM, and from one fact pointed out by a Russian LiveJournal user, that the name Open-Reach appears as "OPR" on the title screen of another game Tomcat System developed, the 1991 Famicom game Castle Quest published by Hudson Soft.

As for Noriko, her identity remains unknown. In the comments section of the sourced video, one commenter claimed that Noriko was Ookubo's daughter who was three years old at the time of the game's development, while the aforementioned LiveJournal user claimed that Noriko was a romantic partner, claiming her to be a former Namco graphic designer named Noriko Ikegawa (whose name would later appear in the credits for the Nintendo game Animal Crossing as a model designer), but there is no known substantial evidence to support either of these claims.
