The game's existence was first leaked in October 2016, when a Reddit user riding the subway to work in downtown Montréal, Canada noticed an unidentified Eidos-Montréal employee in the next seat working on a Powerpoint presentation with a tentative logo for the game and quickly took a picture of his laptop screen. A similar early logo to the one featured in the presentation slide would turn up in June 2017, when a marketing firm posted and almost immediately removed an article about the creation of promotional and concept art for the game, which was still unannounced at the time.
