With the release of Ridge Racer Type 4, Namco created a special controller called the JogCon. This controller featured a wheel-like spindle to make for a more realistic driving experience and was promoted to have force feedback, the first controller documented to incorporate this feature. The reviews were lackluster as the controller did not deliver the experience it promised.
