The Davy Back Fight was changed in the American release to have the Black Cat Pirates hosting it instead of the Foxy Pirates. Itomimizu was replaced with Jango for all audio sections, and the Sexy Foxy ship seen in the background of the mini games was changed to the Bezan Black ship. However, Chuchun and generic Foxy Pirates can still be seen within the minigames.
Though they were cut from the opening, for some reason 4Kids Entertainment decided to keep the Jaya/Skypiea stage in the game, but made the board a secret and only be accessable through the use of a password. Blackbeard, Bellamy, Wiper (dubbed Wyler by 4kids), Satori, and Enel are all still in the game.
Certain Captain games were changed (mostly for the Water Seven/Enies Lobby arc characters) in the American version, for example, Kalifa and Kaku were replaced with Cabaji and Mohji, Blueno was replaced with Pandaman, and Franky and the Franky Family were replaced with Buggy and Cabaji. All the mini-games were still the same in playability, but the models/audio/title card for each game were changed. Meanwhile, Rob Lucci's minigame was completely taken out of the American version.
The US boxart for the game actually takes images from another Japan only One Piece game, "One Piece: Round the Land". The only edit to the character images was that Sanji is holding two Wapol chests in the U.S. while in Japan, Enel was one of the chests as well.
The opening sequence in the game was heavily edited for the English dub (which was translated by 4kids). In the frames where Franky and the Franky Family were seen, it was replaced by in game screen pans of Buggy, Mohji, and Cabaji. Blackbeard, Enel, and the Foxy Pirates screen time in the opening was also replaced with gameplay footage. In one of the final segments, where it showed a group of characters, Wiper and Bellamy were replaced with Crocodile and Mr. 2 Bon Kurei, and Porche of the Foxy Pirates was replaced with Hina.
