The Glavenus monster was designed to be a blend between a tank and a sword. His sword-like tail was originally on his head, and while his motif of being a tank was minimized, he originally had several different types of projectile attacks.

In the Monster Hunter Generations Concept Art Book, there are two unused weapon types; the Wyvern Boomerang and the Hunting Hound. These seem to have been scrapped during development, never leaving the design stage.
