The Myconid is a race of intelligent fungus creatures appearing in Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei. This is notable as while the concept of mushroom creatures is well known in pop culture, the specific term “Myconid” was specifically invented for the fantasy tabletop role playing game Dungeons & Dragons.

An enemy in the game that takes on the sprite of a bull, named simply "Bug", appears upside down with the word "BUG" written across it. When you press the Auto command in-battle while you're holding down A, B, Left and Down on the second controller, the normal battle text "Nakajima and the others start fighting." will change to "Cabu-chan begins debugging."
