In Beatmania IIDX 7th Style's Single 7th Dan course, the Hyper Chart for "THE SAFARI", a song from Beatmania IIDX 6th Style, acts as the final song. However, many players felt that the chart was significantly harder than the other three proceeding it, to the point that some skipped directly to the Single 8th Dan course due to its final song being considered easier. The game's Japanese fan community started jokingly referring to players who do this as "Safari Refugees" (サファリ難民), which resulted in there being few Single 7th Dan course players overall. This has led to a running gag in which "THE SAFARI" has been the final song in the Single 7th Dan courses of every subsequent entry in the Beatmania series since.
