The game's final level, "Joe & Silvia", appears to be a reference to the Star Wars film series. The enemy "Die Fighters", an obvious reference to the TIE Fighters from Star Wars, make their one and only appearance in this stage. The level takes place on a moon sized space station, not unlike the Death Star, and the level ends with Captain Blue Spoiler:revealing to Silvia that he is her father, with her denying and saying her father is dead, with Blue then telling her that deep down she knows it to be true. This mirrors the scene in the Empire Strikes Back, in which Darth Vader reveals he is Luke's father, and the same conclusion occurring.

Sapientia's legs have angelic text on them that, when translated, reads "SEGA Mark lll" which is the original Japanese version of the Sega Master System. Upon further inspection, the writing on Sapientia's head translates to "SG-1000000", which is a theoretical follow-up to the SG-1000 (Sega Game 1000) made up by Hideki Kamiya, the game's director.

Franchise: Fallout

The in-game pre-war company called "Chryslus Motors" is a reference to the real-world company Chrysler Motors. They produce two car models; The Corvega and Highwayman.
The Corvega brandname is a combination of two Chevrolet cars, the Corvair and the Vega.

The Highwayman is likely another nod to the post-apocalyptic Mad Max movies. The Chosen One from Fallout 2 can obtain a drivable Highwayman, with a blower sticking out of the car's hood, and was originally going to have two-fuel tanks in the trunk, much like Mad Max's V8 Interceptor from Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior.
The Evil Within

After the player gets out the crash site, they'll find Connelly who is eating a dead body. This is a reference to the original Resident Evil, specifically the player's first encounter with a zombie who is eating Kenneth. Shinji Mikami was the director of both titles.
