Producer Keisuke Kikuchi renamed the game Trapt from its original title of "Deception 4" because he considered it the first part of a new series. The next installment in the series would be titled Deception IV: Blood Ties.

The English subtitles write out the main character's name as "Allura", while all voice acting in the game refers to her as "Alicia". This is likely an oversight discrepancy, though it remains unknown why this name change was made.
