To try and promote the game in the United Kingdom, Acclaim wanted to pay relatives of the recently deceased to allow them to place small billboards of Shadow Man: 2econd Coming on their gravestones. The claim caused controversy with even the Church of England stating that it would not allow any of its graveyards to be used to advertise the game.
