In the theme songs for both acts of Diamond Dust Zone from the Sega Genesis version of Sonic 3D Blast, the lead melody in the beginning of each song is taken from the melody of the song "Match Setup" from J.League Pro Striker 2, which released two years prior on the Genesis. Tatsuyuki Maeda, who composed and arranged Diamond Dust Zone along with several other songs in the Genesis soundtrack of Sonic 3D Blast, also composed for J.League Pro Striker 2.
