According to developer Thibault Rivera, many of the game's visuals were taken from pre-existing copyrighted material and personal items, including horror films, Romantic era paintings, old war photographs, and deformed wax medical faces. The game's art style was also inspired by the monochromatic color scheme and collages of underground zines, as well as dithering shade effects used by old computers.
