While the Roman Empire is the location of the second case of the game, the internal data lists it as the third case, with the second case being skipped over in the case file names. There are virtually no traces of the unused case in the game aside from a placeholder Chronopedia entry. Since the demo version of the game lacks a case between Egypt and Rome on the case timeline, it was likely scrapped early on before it could ever be written. While no details about the case are known, certain details can be inferred based on the other cases in the game:
• The second case would likely take place sometime between 1490 BCE (Ancient Egypt) and 50 BCE (Roman Empire) since the game follows a chronological, real-life timeline.
• Despite appearing in both the game's intro and the jailbreak scene at the start of Disc 2, Dee Cryption does not appear in any of the Disc 1 cases. As such, it can be assumed that she would have been the antagonist of the case had it been added.
• Similar to the above, Polly Tix only appears as the Good Guide for two of the game's cases, compared to every other Good Guide appearing in four. As such, it can be assumed she would have been the Good Guide for this case in order to even it out.
