In a trailer for the game, a custom figure made by Jin Saotome can be seen in the background.

Within the game's data are two unused characters. One of them is simply named "Debug Minion", and was probably used for testing. The other, Sniper, appears as a green-skinned troll with a large pistol and sniper rifle, similar to an earlier design of Boomer. However, his stats screen displays a red version of Spyro.

In Kaos' Kastle, there is an inflatable which resembles Spyro. Unlike other coin treasures, this is the only one of its kind in the game.

If any Skylander approaches the phonograph once it has been obtained, they will start to grunt and call out their name in sync with the music.

The first animation test for Skylanders Giants was a 300x scaled up version of a regular Skylander.
