Schedule I has been noted to have many similarities to the Drug Dealer Simulator series, to the point that the latter games' publisher Movie Games SA launched an investigation into potential intellectual property infringement in in April 2025 regarding the gameplay mechanics and UI designs of the two games. While the developer behind Schedule I, named Tyler, confirmed that he had been contacted by Movie Games, there had been no further communication between the two, nor had any legal action been taken. Despite this, the situation prompted backlash from players, who responded by leaving negative reviews on the Drug Dealer Simulator games' Steam pages.
