The Namco Gallery versions of Mappy and Family Tennis are outliers among Super Game Boy enhanced games, as they decrease the amount of fine details as opposed to adding them. Mappy removing shading and outlines from sprites, while Family Tennis removes patterns from the court floor. Both of these were likely done to more faithfully capture the multi-color original games compared to the monochrome versions.

Something interesting I'm not sure really warrants mention, but I'm pretty sure this version of Mappy is the only time he's ever had a Mickey Mouse-style muzzle. Looking at a comparison video, the NEC PC-6001 version comes the closest, but looks more like a muppet mouth with it just being a very thin line above his teeth - but that's not accounting for all the other Mappy games and his cameos in other Namco games. (Hell, the Game Boy Mappy design could be just as easily interpreted as some kind of 90s-cartoon underbite)
