In a 2015 fan vote, fans were asked which NFL player should be on the game's cover, with the choices being Patrick Peterson (quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals), Odell Beckham, Jr. (wide receiver of the New York Giants), Rob Gronkowski (tight end of the New England Patriots), and Antonio Brown (wide receiver of the Pittsburgh Steelers). Odell Beckham, Jr. (New York Giants) would eventually win the popular vote and become the cover athlete for the game. This would mark the last time EA and ESPN conducted a fan vote to choose who would be on the cover of a Madden NFL game, as both companies ended the annual event which started with Madden NFL 11, and EA went back to choosing who would be on the cover of future installments in the series themselves.
