The game's developer got into controversy with publisher Valve after it offered as a promotion free Steam keys of the game in exchange for reviews of it on Valve's Steam digital distribution service. Valve was unable to determine which users who provided reviews had taken part in the promotion as they had not disclosed this, so as a result, they removed every single user review for the game on its store page.
