FRIEND, a recurring entity first formally introduced during Ralsei's explanation of the Dark World's nature in Chapter 3, makes multiple cameos throughout the game as an Easter egg:

• In one room of Spoiler:the mansion basement in Chapter 2, the player has a rare chance of seeing FRIEND's face appear out of bounds at the far left before quickly fading away.
• In Chapter 3, FRIEND's mouth and eyes have a chance of appearing in the empty rooms at the top the Original Game's desert board early into the Sword Route, foreshadowing Spoiler:the appearance of multiple FRIENDs as summonable enemies during the Shadow Mantle Holder fight.
• In Chapter 4, a silhouette of FRIEND's face can be spotted in one of the darkened sanctuary corridors.
• Also in Chapter 4, FRIEND faces can appear as enemies during the BATTAT minigame.
• In Chapter 5, a red FRIEND face can be encountered in a hidden area in the cliffs by grappling Ralsei to an invisible target. Once summoned, the face then instantly deals damage to the party. Following the v0.0.247 patch, encountering this version of FRIEND and speaking to the Forgotten Man in that chapter's egg room unlocks hidden dialogue from Spoiler:Pink at her shop where she elaborates on FRIEND's nature as a notoriously vicious hunting cat.

Additionally, Chapter 2 contains unused versions of the barricades from the first Berdly fight with FRIEND's face on them, indicating that a cameo was intended there as well before being removed for unknown reasons.
