Screenshots from pre-release builds reveal Sektor and Cyrax had humorous placeholder names for much of the game's development, including "Ketchup" and "Mustard" respectively, while Cyrax had also been named "Robocop" at one point. Sindel also had a placeholder name for much of the game's development: "Muchacha", the Spanish word for "girl".
