The character Arden Lyn was created with the intention of introducing more strong female characters into the Star Wars universe.
The game's production manager, Camela Boswell, told Star Wars Insider about the character, "With this game, aside from Leia there was definitely a drive to get another strong female character," "That was part of getting Arden Lyn off the ground."
