In the Commodore 64 version of Bomb Jack, the main theme music is a cover version of "Magnetic Fields, Pt. 2" by French progressive electronic musician Jean-Michel Jarre. In a 2018 interview, Jarre himself noted that the song was used without his permission, but expressed that he "really loved" its inclusion nonetheless, positively comparing it to other "low-fi minimalist 8 bit cover versions" of his music.
