In North America, copies of the game contained coupons for a taco at the Wahoo’s restaurant chain. Hideo Yoshizawa stated in an interview that he felt that it would have been a good idea if the chain was more widespread.

A special redesign of Klonoa was considered for the game's North American release, but due to negative reception from both critics and fans alike, it was scrapped.
