It took more than two years to create the in-game Notre Dame cathedral. The game's senior level artist, Caroline Miousse, worked with a historian to make sure it stayed true as possible. Much of the art however in the cathedral, including the stained-glass windows, was protected under copyright law so none of it could be used and instead had provide her own interpretation. After it was complete, Miousse finally had a chance to actually visit Notre Dame.
