In an intro dialogue with Omni-Man and Johnny Cage, the former will say, "Get out of my sight before I demolish you.", referencing a line said by Terence Fletcher, a role Omni-Man's voice actor J.K. Simmons played, in the movie "Whiplash".
Kurohyou 2: Ryuu ga Gotoku Ashura-hen
1
Kurohyou 2 features a song which Ukyo can sing in the karaoke mini-game titled "Majima no MajiROCK", which features the voice of Goro Majima and his character profile on the song cover. Goro Majima is a character from the first Yakuza game who has appeared in every single mainline title since, but never made an appearance in either of the Kurohyou spin-offs besides this cameo, implying that he had to have recorded this song himself at some point.

When bees are swarming around other Mudokons, they'll occasionally say "Oh no, not bees", paying homage to a deleted scene from the 2006 film "The Wicker Man" where Nicolas Cage gets tortured with bees and screams a near-identical line.

Attachment High Boo's Thought Peek quote, "*sigh* ♪Stomp, stomp, clap. Stomp, stomp, clap.♪", references the 1977 song "We Will Rock You" by English glam rock band Queen. The song famously features a percussion section consisting of two stomped eighth notes followed by a clapped quarter note. Uniquely, this reference is a new addition to the remake; in the original SNES version, High Boo (known there as Li'l Boo) says "Beep pa doodle-dee!♪"

Sonic Adventure
2
Attachment In Speed Highway, several billboards can be found depicting an unknown female character. In 2020, Satoshi Okano, a former designer at Sega who worked on Sonic Adventure, revealed that this was a scrapped spider character he designed with the prototype name "Spider Girl", and posted an old sketch of the character alongside a sketch of another scrapped character, a bat named "Fly the Vampire". In 2023, Okano posted an inked version of the original Spider Girl sketch from the same time period alongside several inked sketches from the development of Samba de Amigo. Spider Girl's appearance on the billboards in Sonic Adventure suggests that the character lasted far enough into the game's development to receive a 3D model, but the character was ultimately scrapped for unknown reasons, and this 3D model has yet to surface on its own. It's unknown what role either Spider Girl or Fly were intended to have, though fans have noted that Spider Girl has some similarities to Rouge the Bat from Sonic Adventure 2, namely that both characters have large bosoms and prominent heart-based/romantic imagery.

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty
1
After defeating Solidus Snake at the end of the game, he falls to his death off of the Federal Hall building. Just before he falls however, if you look closely, you can see his lips move slightly in the brief moments that they are not covered by the collar of his exoskeleton. By replacing Solidus' model with Solid Snake's (who shares most of Solidus' facial features) through mods, it reveals that Solidus was actually saying one last message to Raiden. However, the dialogue during this moment is still muted, so Solidus' last words remain unknown.

Yakuza 5
1
The Tsukimono area in Yakuza 5 features an ice sculpture of Hatsune Miku, a virtual idol likeness owned by Crypton Future Media and licensed out to Sega for video game appearences. Although this might be coincidental rather than an intentional reference, Crypton is located in Sapporo, the same city as Tsukimono.

Attachment On March 17, 2019, in response to a post on the Sonic the Hedgehog Twitter account celebrating St. Patrick's Day, YouTuber Jacksepticeye jokingly asked if he could voice "Irish the Hedgehog", to which the Sonic the Hedgehog Twitter account responded:

"Absolutely.

(We just need to create him first.)"

A year later, they made good on this promise, releasing a video titled "Irish the Hedgehog" on the official Sonic the Hedgehog YouTube channel. According to Sega, the character was designed by artist Mark Hughes, and the video included a "folksy" remix of the song "Escape from the City" from Sonic Adventure 2 made by Hyper Potions and Jun Senoue.

A few years afterwards, Jacksepticeye would return to the Sonic franchise to voice another character: the appropriately-named Jack from the "Sonic Prime" episode "It Takes One to No Place".

Through out the Yakuza series, the character of Goro Majima speaks with a Kansai accent, a Japanese accent associated with the Kansai region where Osaka is located. This accent is also stereotyped as being associated with criminals or gangsters. There are multiple instances where Goro Majima seemingly slips back into speaking in a Kanto accent, more associated with Tokyo and without this connotation, and this is even commented on by other characters, (with one notable instance being in Yakuza 4 where his sworn brother Taiga Saejima who speaks in a more natural Kansai accent informs him his accent is slipping) suggesting he puts up the accent to make himself seem tougher or more serious.
